Churches and Community Spaces
Spatial
Impact offers three consulting services for churches and community
spaces.
IDENTIFY
A one day consultation that
involves identifying the building’s first impressions, a seminar on ‘The
Hospitality of a Building’, and a walk-about the spaces while verbal
suggestions for possible changes are offered
INTERPRET
Learn about your building and its potential. Core values are
named together as well as the limitations and opportunities of the building’s
use. Patterns of movement in the space are observed. Two seminars are offered, ‘The Hospitality
of a Building’ and ‘Third Places’. A document is written and
presented that shares ideas for increased partnership of building and
ministry/programming.
ALIGN
In
addition to all the services provided in INTERPRET, an additional seminar
is offered on ‘Generational Characteristics’. Focus groups and listening sessions
are added to gain greater understanding of the space and its intentions.
ALIGN engages an organic ‘play’ process that invites people who use the
building to be involved in designing their building for new possibilities.
“
On target!! One person who was
highly skeptical of the whole process, wary of consultants talking about
what works elsewhere, was surprisingly pleased that the document grasped
our uniqueness and made recommendations consistent with who we are.”
“
I have attended and participated in several sessions such as this. This was the best! Ms
.
Mendenhall has control of a meeting, very professional, yet warm and
caring. Not easy to do.”
